Windows XP became unstable over time and I started getting similar errors a re-install of Win XP fixed the problem. I had a similar problem but in a desktop with a dedicated graphics card a while ago. It could be Windows 7 has become a bit unstable so a fresh re-install of Win 7 may fix the problem.
